How to Prepare your Brampton Home for Sale

August 6, 2015

The sale of your home can come down to many different factors, some of which could be the local market, the neighborhood, how skilled your agent is, and sometimes a little bit of good timing. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t a few good things that you can do to help the situation along a little bit. We want to make sure that you have as good a chance as possible to get what you want for your house, so here is how to ready your Brampton home for sale.

First, pretend you are a buyer!

This needs to be done first before anything. You need to pretend that you are a buyer, and think about the things that you would want to see in a home if you were going to purchase it. Once you get into this frame of mind, then you can begin to see what needs to be done within your home to get it off the market quickly.

1)Paint the walls

Putting a fresh coat of paint on the walls will make the home a lot more appealing to anyone who is looking at it. Not to mention that it will make it appear more move-in ready. Don’t just slap any old color on the walls though, make sure you go with a neutral white, or off-white color. You want the home to appeal to as broad an audience as possible.

2)Get a pre-inspection

Having your home inspected will not only make buyers trust you more, but it will make the process simpler. It can uncover any problems a potential buyer might have with the home so you can get them fixed ASAP. If you show that you are willing to help a buyer out with an inspection, it will show them that you mean business. Not to mention potentially save you money in the long run on repairs.

3)Don’t neglect the outside

One thing that people pride themselves on around Brampton is just how beautiful the place looks. Our stunning views and beautiful nature around here make it a lovely place to live. So get with the program and make your exterior look lovely. You can do anything from redoing the roof, to getting new siding, or simply just trimming up the bushes. Add a beautiful stone walkway up to the front door. That will hit the buyers before they even walk in.

There are plenty of things that you can do to ready your house for sale. Don’t leave it all up to chance. By putting a little elbow grease into things, and finding out what a buyer would want to see in a home, you can increase your chances drastically. Don’t go it alone though! We are Brampton’s real estate experts, and can help you sell your home in no time.
